Located in what were the ruins of the former Anwandter brewery, it has a contemporary art inspiration that has its origin in the work of the Chilean artist Roberto Matta. In its various rooms, exhibits works with different techniques: painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, multimedia experiments, and also performances.

Located in what were the ruins of the former Anwandter brewery, and built in the mid nineteenth century and partially destroyed by the earthquake of 1960, the Contemporary Art Museum of Valdivia opened in 1994 and it has become an icon of archaeological and industrial memory of the German colonization in the city. It has a contemporary art inspiration that has its origin in the work of the Chilean artist Roberto Matta. In its various rooms, exhibits works with different techniques: painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, multimedia experiments, and performances, generating spaces for contemplation and cultural reflection.
