Located in Anfión Muñoz Street, the bus station in Valdivia was built by Valdicor, an urban development society, during the 1970s. Since the very beginning, it was considered as an important intercity transport center. Nowadays, the historic building is in process of renovation.
The process will be finished during the first quarter of 2016 and the bus station will be the most modern station in the south of Chile.
In 2010, Valdicor granted the concession of the bus station to Terval S.A., a company with vast experience in developing infrastructures projects. Four years later, and after a long process of evaluation and design, the most expected building started the renovation and construction process for the joy of the people in the capital of Los Rios Region and of national and international tourists.
Some of the most distinctive characteristics of the new bus station are 129,166 ft2 of total surface, tripling its original capacity. It also includes more and better platforms and ticketing and new services such as, more shops, a pharmacy, a supermarket and a food court. In addition, a parking lot with a 130-car capacity and easier access for public transport.
